Who We Are

Beginning in 1982 as Noarlunga Community Legal Service, in a small office with one solicitor and a receptionist, the Centre was renamed Southern Community Justice Centre in 2002. Due to continued expansion of the Service, we now have 3 Community Justice Centres at locations across South Australia:

Community Justice Services SA’s Board of Directors is composed of Directors that provide an appropriate mix of skills and experience to meet the responsibilities of the Board/Management Committee and the objectives of the organization, with an appropriate representation of the interests of relevant groups and diversity in backgrounds.

We now operate from Adelaide southern metropolitan, Murray Mallee, Fleurieu Peninsula, Limestone Coast and Riverland. We are the largest Community legal Service provider in South Australia and funded by the Commonwealth and State Attorney-General’s Departments.

“Many thanks for the excellent service. I was able to arrange an appointment very quickly and the assistance was very useful and extremely helpful.”

Community Justice Services provides free legal services to the community in a professional and friendly environment. We provide free legal advice in the areas of civil, criminal, family and immigration law to most members of the community and free court representation in both the State and Federal Courts as well as casework, all subject to eligibility.

We also undertake Community Legal Education, Law Reform and other community engagement activities.

CJSSA is a not-for-profit organisation, committed to providing a quality professional legal assistance which makes a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities.
